Grey is the New Black: Unseen Singapore is a celebration of style; A series of stories and connections inspired by Singapore Auntie fashion aiming to bring seniors back from society’s unseen. Street scouted for over a year from Tiong Bahru to Yishun, Geylang to Serangoon. A celebration of unique style and beauty, a tribute to aging artfully.
This is a story about Singapore’s aunties and uncles. This is a story about the interesting street style that often goes unseen. But most of all this is a celebration of ageless beauty and authenticity in a society that today is obsessed with trends and youth.

The fashion habits of the elderly don’t often get the spotlight here, but Grey is the New Black (Unseen Singapore) – an upcoming book by independent photographer/art director Rachel Loh and Australian model/writer Bella Bray – is looking to change that. Bray, who regularly shuttles between Singapore and Melbourne, has long admired the insouciant style of “aunties” here and the book is meant to celebrate that.
